Too many companies are targeting an audience of 53,651. That’s how many people subscribe to Michael Arrington’s TechCrunch blog feed. I’m a big fan of Techcrunch – and read it every day. However, the Techcrunch audience is NOT a mainstream America audience.

Josh Kopelman of First Round Capital & founder of Half.com

This is why I’m focusing web endeavors on the real world. There are significant opportunities for people who can figure out how to translate “Web 2.0” to real life and everyday people.

It took me a while to post this, but I just wanted to say how proud I am of my younger brother, Brandon.
Last week, I followed him for 96 holes of golf in the 108th US Amateur at Pinehurst, No. 2 in NC. He and 63 other of the best players in the world made the cut.
Brandon made it to the third match where he came from behind on the last two holes to tie up the match. The playoff lasted five holes, and on several holes he nearly did it. Amazingly, his opponent sunk a 20 footer for birdie on the fourth hole to keep it tied.
He may not have won the tournament, but it was amazing to watch him out there, to see his resolve and desire combined with his amazing talent. (By the way, he is one of the longest drivers out there.)
Thanks Brandon for the amazing show, and good luck this season with NC State.

Drexel Smart House Design Selected

We finally selected the final design for the Drexel Smart House. We finally know what the old, wrecked fraternity is going to look like after the renovation/transformation. I can’t even begin to convey how satisfying it is to have finally settled on a final design.

Drexel Smart House

The decision was difficult, but we have a really solid and truly innovative design.

Too bad I can’t actually show the design. You’ll have to wait for the party in October where we’re making it public.

I beg you, please watch this until the :22 second mark.

I can’t write a funny comment about this as I am just speechless.

I really did used to respect Diddy as a “hip-hop businessman.” Then he took over Making the Band, posted YouTube videos and started making really bad Burger King commercials. This video though is a new low.

“Stinky” the baby Hutt from the new CG Star Wars movie. Yes, I went to the midnight showing, and yes, I enjoyed it even though everyone who has reviewed it has hated it. I’m also very excited for the TV show. I have come to realize that I cannot see anything Star Wars related as bad. More Star Wars is always good. You may commence with the ridiculing now.

Apparently, Hitler couldn’t live without Twitter. Oh, and he thinks Tumblr is for girls.

I was really excited for the Olympics to start today, until ONN unveiled that the whole thing is an elaborate trap!

That last post made me want to listen to some Soulwax remixes. Here’s “Round Round (Soulwax Remix)” by the Sugababes.
